Volunteering with Inspired Youth

Inspired Youth's tutoring program would not exist without our wonderful volunteer tutors. Anyone can tutor with Inspired Youth, and since we are accepting new students year round, we are also always accepting volunteer applications!

Volunteer tutors can commit anywhere from 1-5 hours per week to our program. On the volunteer application form, you can indicate at which weekly tutoring session(s) you'd like to volunteer. Most of our sessions occur virtually over Zoom; however, we do host in-person tutoring on Tuesdays in the Uptown neighborhood. We prefer that our volunteers commit to the full tutoring year (through late May) as it benefits the students to have a consistent tutor with whom they can develop a relationship.

Tutors are paired one-on-one with a student, and we try our best to ensure that pairings remain consistent throughout the school year, so that volunteers have an opportunity to build a relationship with their students. Volunteers work with students on homework help, writing assignments, and supplemental work to grow students' personal academic interests and skills.
